What is a zine?
A zine is a compilation of creative works, usually artworks and writing. It’s similar to a book or a miniature magazine.

What is Traveller's Guide to Teyvat?
Traveller’s Guide to Teyvat is planned to be a recurring zine series, with each volume featuring one specific region of Teyvat. We are currently working on the Mondstadt volume, where the focus will be on the whole of Mondstadt!

What are the zine specs?
+ Profit, Physical, SFW
+ US Letter Size (8.5” x 11”), perfect bound, fully coloured
+ 29 Artists, 6 Writers, 5 Merch Artists (This number is inclusive of invited guests and contributing mods.)

How will contributors be compensated?
We aim to provide all contributors with a full bundle of the zine, inclusive of the zine itself, all available merch items, stretch goals and shipping. Funds will mainly go towards production and shipping. The remaining funds may be evenly distributed among mods and contributors.

Is the zine only set in canonverse? Are AUs allowed?
Due to the content Traveller’s Guide aims on covering, we will only be covering canon Teyvat. This includes canonical locations and the canonical time period.

Who is allowed to apply?
Everyone aged 16 and above at the point of July 15th will be able to participate in the zine. Individuals under the age of 18 should have the approval of a guardian and can be paid through a guardian's PayPal.

Are you looking for more moderators / intern mods?
Currently, all our positions have been filled. Please also note that as of the Mondstadt edition, the Traveller’s Guide to Teyvat is currently not seeking intern mods. This may change in future iterations.

Am I allowed to apply for more than one position?
Yes, although applicants who apply for more than one role will only be selected for one position.

Will everyone who applies get an email regardless of their results?
Yes, result emails will be sent to everyone who applies.

What are the expectations for contributors?

In the Traveller's Guide to Teyvat: Mondstadt, we're looking to showcase the region of Mondstadt in all its glory — in the format of a travel magazine. The information stated below only applies to those who are accepted into the zine. For application guidelines, you can head here.
Artists: Artists will be expected to create their choice of either a portrait, spread, comic or spot illustration. The section below explains this better.Writers: Writers will be given the option to either write one piece of prose with a word count range of 1k - 2k, or article(s) that will total up to a similar word count. Examples of articles include travel-styled magazine articles, restaurant reviews, etc.Merch: Merch Artists will be expected to create 2-3 merch pieces.
Further Clarification for Artists
Artists are invited to pick something essential to Mondstadt and build an advertisement, illustration, or spread around it.
Advertisements can range from: an advertisement for dawn winery's famous dandelion wine, to good hunter's signature sticky honey roast, to recruitment posters for the Knights of Favonius and the Mondstadt branch of the adventurer's guild.Spread illustrations are looking to capture the beauty of key Mondstadt locations: the Church of Favonius, Dawn Winery, Windrise, Stormterror's lair - alongside the people of Mondstadt themselves. from Master Diluc and Sir Kaeya in the winery grounds, to chief alchemist albedo and the young spark knight bomb-fishing by the shore, we're looking to capture both the landscapes and the people that make Mondstadt, Mondstadt.Finally, spot illustration artists will be given the ability to work alongside a writer to collaborate to create dynamic articles and stories featuring interviews with Mondstadt characters, reviews on Mondstadt tourist locations and amenities and more.
